A Peaceful Time for the Healing Warrior
February 16th, 2013
Asheville VA Medical Center
A quarterly event started by Judith Toy of Cloud Cottage Sangha, Cyndy Kirkland, and Meryl Joan. We offered this event last October and the response was so great we decided to hold it quarterly. A Peaceful Time for the Healing Warrior is a 3 hour event where we offer veterans yoga, reflexology, meditation, head massage, music therapy, drumming, reiki, singing bowls, and a chance to share their own emotional experiences. We have many volunteers to come to help nurture our healing warriors.

DHARMA TEACHER TO LEAD RETREAT DAY AT CLOUD COTTAGE
Most of us rarely stop to breathe during our fast paced lives. A chance to find a time of peace is offered by Asheville Dharma teacher Roger Hawkins as a benefit for Cloud Cottage Community of Mindful Living, 219 Old Toll Circle, Black Mountain. Participants can slow down of peace and joy, “Appreciate Your Life,” on Saturday, May 11, 10:00-4:00. Included in the day, with a suggested donation of $35, will be seated meditation, a Dharma talk and a mindful meal, followed by total relaxation with singer/songwriter and music therapist Meryl Lammers.
Roger Hawkins , Ph.D. Psychologist, moved from Ft. Lauderdale to the Marion, NC in 2009, joining Cloud Cottage Community of Mindfulness in Black Mountain. Since that time, he has written a book, Great Doubt, the Spirit of Self-Inquiry, published by Cloud Cottage Editions in the Spring of 2010. He has offered Dharma talks and retreats, and continues to shepherd the Ft. Lauderdale Zen Group.
“When we allow ourselves to open deeply to our spirit of inquiry,” said Hawkins, “we find the real motivating force in our lives is the infinite spirit we all are, beyond the limits of what we can imagine.”
To register for the day-long event, contact Judith Toy at Cloud Cottage, 669-0920, or go to www.cloudcottage.org. All Cloud Cottage events are held by donation.
